Lunch at a Thai Restaurant in Hang Hau village today after hiking the High Junk Peak Country Trail. The food was okay, but not an absolute stand out.

Day 125 - Home-made Hawaiian Pizza
I've been making my own pizza bases for many years now, but last night, they just didn't quite turn out right. A little too thin for my tastes. Pizza still tasted great though.
Another Weekly Tie
Last weeks photo contest was a tie between Day 114 - Yum Cha and Day 117 - Edamame... Time to start voting on next week's poll!

Day 124 - Pappardelle Carbonara
Another dinner for two tonight, we cooked Pappardelle Carbonara and Chicken Parmigiana. I was really happy with the way both dishes turned out and eating less than an hour after walking in the door is not too bad either!
Day 123 - Meat Pies, Hash Browns and a Green Salad
Not exactly a "balanced" meal, but the addition of dark ale sure makes it an *awesome* meal!

Day 122 - Curry Pork Chop with Rice
Today I wanted something that I knew was going to be good, so I opted for a variation on a theme. I had the Pork Chop with Curry Rice instead of my regular Chicken version. I think the chicken is better, but this was still great and definitely worth the change.
Day 121 - Teriyaki Chicken Udon
Dinner at a small Japanese Restaurant before heading to the Cinema to see Night at the Museum 2. As expected, it was standard Hollywood sequel type stuff (not a compliment!).
As an aside, this photo is shot at ISO1600 because I didn't notice till later that I (accidentally) changed the setting. Pretty good performance really, in lowish light conditions.

Day 120 - Beef with Fried Udon
Lunch today. The dish tasted pretty good overall, but was just too oily!

Day 119 - McDonald's Double Sundae
I decided to go for the half Chocolate, half Strawberry Double Layered Sundae, but in retrospect, having both layers as Strawberry probably would have been better. Regardless, it was still quite good.
Everybody Loves Chocolate
For more photos from the buffet, see the post below!
Day 118 - Whole Roast Chicken
A standard sort of family dinner last night, with a combination of home-made and bought dishes.

Day 117 - Edamame
A traditional Japanese snack, a friend and I were grazing on these while drinking Kirin and waiting for our Miso Ramen to arrive.
Itadakimasu!

Day 116 - Grilled Pastrami, Tomato and Cheese Panini
For lunch today I decided on something a little left-field. It's very rare here in Hong Kong for me to have a sandwich (grilled or fresh) so I decided to have one for lunch. I think, however, I could have made better filling choices... Perhaps Roast Chicken, Tomato, Cheese, Lettuce and Avocado?
Anybody have any killer suggestions?
Day 115 - Chicken Caesar Salad
Also Pictured: Fish & Chips bottom left and Cheese and Bacon Fries bottom right.
We went to Outback Steakhouse in Causeway Bay for dinner last night, which is normally a favourite of mine. It's a favourite, not because of the over-priced, not very Australian dishes (although they do have ridiculous "crocodile dundee" names), but because they normally have Cooper's Pale Ale... normally... but last night they were sold out of the Coopers, which sunk their rating.
plus the bartender made a terrible "lemon-lime-bitters" (note the quotation marks) that was essentially just sprite and bitters... doesn't sound like very much lemon or lime in there buddy!
All this aside, it's still nice to get out for dinner.
And the Caeser Salad was pretty good.

Day 114 - Yum Cha
Yum Cha at lunch to celebrate a colleague successfully completing their thesis defence... Congrats Dr Kwok.

Day 113 - Eggplant with Minced Pork
Another rather rather bland attempt at a new lunchtime meal. At least the Dong Yuen Yeung was good! Suggestions of new dishes to try? Anyone?
Day 112 - Pork Sausage and Chicken Laksa
Dinner was take away from Maxim's Hang Hau. Although I had high hopes, the Laksa was very bland. Certainly won't be ordering that again!
Day 111 - Planet Apple
Normally I follow most meals with a piece of fruit and this night was no exception, the only difference was the technique used to photograph it!
Follow to my flickr to see the setup shot.

Catch-up week!
Also, the winner of the last poll was a 5-way-tie:
all with one vote each! I'm sure if 7 people vote, we'll get a 7-way-tie!
I will strive to upload a little faster and will also now be trying to work a little off-camera flash work into my photos. Stay tuned!
Sik Fan!

Day 109 - Sliced Pork with Deep-fried Noodles
For lunch at work I decided to go for something different. It was a little plain and a bit oily but very filling. Probably not something I'll choose again.
Day 107 - Chicken Curry
Late night Chicken Curry in Sheung Wan on my way home from climbing at Go Nature.
Day 106 - Chicken & Mushroom Carbonara
At Pizza hut in Mong Kok. Yes... Pizza hut *is* a mood-lighting, metal-cutlery, presentation style restaurant in Hong Kong!
Day 105 - Wonton Noodles and San Choi
Not a bad bowl of noodles at a super cheap price in Sheung Wan.
Day 104 - Stanley Hamburgers
After hiking "The Twins" (Wilson trail stage 1 backwards) we walked down the hill into Stanley for a rather expensive Hamburger at one of the Water-front Restaurants.
Day 103 - Chicken & Eggplant Hotplate
Had dinner at a little Chinese style restaurant and went for the Chicken and Eggplant dish. A winner!

Day 102 - Broccoli with Mixed Mushrooms
After I didn't win a single bet at Happy Valley we headed out for a late dinner. So late, in fact, that it was after midnight, and thus became the photo for the next day! Not a bad meal except for being continually almost run over by buses!
I love Alfresco!

Day 101 - Japanese Soy Rice And Beef
One of the additional benefits of doing this 365 Days of Food, is that it's forced me to try many different dishes to liven up the posts, instead of just defaulting to my regular favourites.
Lunch was Japanese Soy Sauce Rice with Sliced Beef. It was a little smaller than I was hoping for and not quite as good as my regulars, but overall, not bad at all.
Day 100 - Japanese Curry Chicken Rice
Wow, a hundred days! And I didn't realise it till writing in the numbers for this post! I should have had something more special.
This is the third time that this chicken curry has made it into the "365 Days of Food", this time as a take-away at my desk after some lunchtime climbing.
Day 99 - Take away dinner at home
From a favourite take-away place in Sham Shui Po. Pictured is Steamed Fish, Green Beans with Sliced Pork, Fried Whitebait, Clams and Sweet and Sour Pork.
Day 98 - The Mandarin Oriental Chocolate Buffet
The Mandarin Oriental in Central offers a "Chocolate Afternoon Tea" which is a full on buffet. I didn't have breakfast or lunch so I arrived with an appetite but after 2 plates of almost pure chocolate indulgence I was just about done, and only managed a few more things over the next hour. In the end I had sweetness overdose and was longing for something salty.
Extra Chocolate Buffet images as requested!

Good Wife Sausage takes out last week's photo contest
Day 97 - Wartip and Dumplings
Lunch was mixed Wartip and Buns. Delicious.
Also, I took my new flash out for a run today. Probably a little overbearing. I'll work hard to master it!
Day 96 - "Mother and Son" Rice
This is a dish that combines both chicken (the mother) and eggs (the son). Quite devilish from a chicken's perspective!
Day 95 - Eggplant and Potato Curry
Lunch today was Eggplant and Potato Curry with Papadums. I suppose I should have been drinking Lassi with this meal, but instead I opted for my regular Dong Yuen Yeung. Perhaps choosing the wrong drink was the reason they were stingey with the syrup and milk!
