Generally most households in Hong Kong won't have an oven, and in older houses, all the cooking is generally done on just a pair of gas jets. Only after I arrived in Hong Kong did our house get a small grill/oven but it sees a fair bit of use these days with everything from Lamb Chops and Chips to Cookies and Cakes.
I've never been a huge fan of roasts, but I do love me a good chip!
